Meet the Team

Frank Veltrup founded Frank's Industrial Sharpening in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1997 with his wife, Carolynn, and built it from the ground up. He ran the shop and made the sales, and over nearly 30 years he earned the trust of cabinet shops, wood-processing operations, and industrial cutting operations across Florida and South Georgia, one tool at a time.

Frank is a master of precision sharpening and one of the few in the industry who has also mastered custom tooling fabrication. To his customers, he's always been more than a vendor. He's the one they call when they need to know which blade or bit will give them the best cut for the job, and his consultative, case-by-case approach is a big part of why Frank's reputation stands where it does today.

In January 2026, Frank passed the torch to Gabriel Curry and Fuelbox Industrial, choosing a partner who would carry the business forward with the same standard of workmanship and customer-first approach it was built on. He hasn't gone far. Frank is still in the shop every day, supporting the team and sharing the knowledge and expertise that made Frank's what it is.

"Our customers trust us because our knowledge, equipment and quality aren't easy to replicate," Frank said. "It was important to us that our customers would continue working with the same people and receive the same standard of quality they've come to rely on over the years."

Carolynn Veltrup co-founded Frank's Industrial Sharpening in 1997 alongside her husband, Frank, and built the business with him from the ground up. While Frank ran the shop, Carolynn ran the office: the paperwork, the scheduling, the invoicing, and the day-to-day administration that kept the business running and kept customers taken care of for nearly 30 years.

That side of the business is where a lot of the trust gets earned. Customers knew that when they called Frank's, the phone got answered, the order was tracked, and the paperwork was right. The process discipline Frank's is known for today started with Carolynn.

In January 2026, Carolynn and Frank passed the torch to Gabriel Curry and Fuelbox Industrial. She's still in the shop, supporting the team every day and ensuring the standards she set for the office carry into the next chapter.

Minique Rodriguez joined Frank's in January 2026 and runs the office — the calls, the scheduling, the invoicing, and the paperwork that customers count on being right. When you call Frank's, the phone gets answered, the order is tracked, and the records are clean. That's the standard, and Minique owns it.

She brings more than 20 years of office management and administrative experience, including a decade running the office for a busy operation in New Jersey, with a background spanning bookkeeping, payroll, vendor relationships, and customer service. She holds a bachelor's degree in Business Supervision and Management, is fully bilingual in English and Spanish, and is a Florida Notary

Shane Maher is a Jacksonville native who knows the business from the ground up. Shane started on the warehouse side, working in manufacturing and operations at Fuelbox Industrial, our sister company, learning the products, the customers, and the pace of the industry firsthand before moving into sales at Frank's.

What sets Shane apart is his customer-first approach, every time. With a background built on service, he measures a good day by whether he made a customer's job easier: the right tool, a fast answer, and follow-through they can count on. For Shane, that's not just how he works. It's the whole point.

Internally, Shane is a true asset for the Frank's team, always willing to step up and lend a hand with a smile and a team player mindset. Outside of work, Shane is a dedicated weightlifter with his sights set on competing as a bodybuilder one day.

Bryce Vincent joined Frank's in May 2026, and he came to sales from the shop floor. Bryce spent years as a CNC machinist and operator in precision manufacturing and custom cabinetry, programming, cutting, troubleshooting, and holding tight tolerances, so he knows firsthand what a dull blade costs an operation.
Today he puts that hands-on background to work for Frank's customers: helping shop managers and operators get the right tool, the right cut, and a straight answer on what's worth sharpening. No runaround, just the way Frank's has always done business.

Austin Asher joined the Fuelbox Industrial team in 2022 and moved over to Frank's in January 2026, when the two operations came together. He runs the day-to-day on the sharpening bench and the shop floor, making sure every blade and tool that crosses it leaves sharp, true, and ready to run.

Austin came up through production and manufacturing in Jacksonville — more than a decade across printing, sublimation, custom fabrication, quality control, and logistics — and he holds an AA in Engineering from Florida State College at Jacksonville. It's a background built on precision and process, which is exactly the standard Frank's was founded on.

Francis "Frankie" Veltrup Jr. grew up around the shop his parents built, and he's been part of the Frank's team for years. Learning the trade directly from his dad, Frankie has developed a deep understanding of precision sharpening—and, just as important, the day-to-day challenges the customers who count on Frank's face. On the bench and on the CNC equipment, he's part of the next generation carrying the family standard forward: sharp, true, and ready to run, every time.

Tony has been part of the Frank's family for years, working alongside Frank and Carolynn through much of the shop's history. A Jacksonville local, he's one of the steady hands that keep the shop running the way customers expect—supporting the crew, the bench, and the day-to-day work that gets every tool back sharp, true, and on time. In a shop built on consistency, Tony is part of what makes it consistent.​

Andy Matthews joined Frank's in August 2026 to manage the inventory that keeps the shop running — the tooling, consumables, and customer orders moving across the bench, onto the truck, and out the door every day. Accurate records and clean paperwork are core to how Frank's operates, and Andy owns a big part of making sure customers always know what was done and when.

He brings more than 20 years of operations, purchasing, and logistics experience, including founding and running his own distribution and logistics company for nearly a decade. He holds an MBA from the University of Utah, and he's worked with vendors and supply chains around the world — he even speaks conversational Mandarin.

Joey McGlashan serves as Controller for Frank's Industrial Sharpening and its parent company, Fuelbox Industrial®. He leads accounting and financial operations for both businesses, including financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, cash flow, payroll, and internal controls, keeping the numbers tight so the Frank's team can keep its focus where it belongs: on sharpening and serving customers.

Joey holds an MBA in Finance and a Master of Science in Accounting. Joey brings more than 20 years of accounting and finance leadership across manufacturing, hospitality, and multi-entity organizations, including time as Controller for a lumber manufacturing operation, so he understands the wood products and industrial world Frank's customers work in every day. He's known for making finance departments run leaner and for leading ERP and payroll system implementations from start to finish.
