Chipped Edge? Worn Past Spec?
A chipped carbide edge can often be ground down, and the bit returned to service. Custom and production tooling with damaged inserts or brazed tips can usually be repaired rather than replaced. Send a photo before you scrap anything — especially the expensive stuff.
The process
Reground to Cut Like New
A router bit's performance lives in its flute geometry — rake, relief, and edge quality decide whether it slices or burns. We regrind on CNC tool grinders that follow the bit's original helix and angles rather than flattening them away, so a resharpened spiral behaves like the one you unboxed: same chip load, same finish, a slightly smaller diameter you can offset in the program:

Inspect — each bit checked for chipped edges, wear land, and remaining regrind life

Grind — flutes and edges restored along the original geometry on CNC equipment

Final check — edges verified by hand before the batch ships back
