When a tool is past sharpening
Chipped Beyond a Regrind?
Heavy chips or a snapped corner don't always end a tool's life — many can be reground shorter and returned to service, and specialty tooling can often be repaired or modified. Send a photo before you toss anything expensive..
The process
Reground to Original Geometry
A drill or end mill only cuts true if its angles are right — point angle, relief, flute edge, all of it. We regrind on CNC tool grinders that restore the manufacturer's geometry rather than eyeballing an edge, which is the difference between a tool that's "sharp" and one that holds size and finish. Worn corners on end mills are brought back square (or to radius), and web-thinned drills keep their self-centering behavior:

Inspect — each tool checked for chips, wear pattern and runout before grinding

Grind — points, flutes and reliefs restored to original spec on CNC equipment

Final check — edges verified by hand before the batch ships back
